It. . . . too. . . hot. . .

So far I've managed to stick to a good schedule.  I run about 5 times a week and one day a week I do a long run, which is getting up to around 15 kilometers.  Today was suppose to be my long run.  The only time I can go running is during the day time after dropping off the baby and before going to work.  When the sun in high in the sky and it's hotter and wetter then most legal saunas I suspect.  I stuck my head out the door and thought 'I am not going to do a long run today.'  I did somewhat less then my normal run, at a terrible pace and ended up getting tingly in my fingers and shaky after I stopped.  Clearly we have finally reached unsafe running temperatures.

I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to deal with the situation.  I have lost around 25 pounds.  I'm happy with my pace.  I'm happy with the distances I'm running.  I think I'm well on my way to being able to do a marathon next year and I don't want to slack off and loose all my progress.  On the other hand I also don't want to die in a ditch from the heat.  I've got no money to join the gym and no alt. child care so. . . I guess I'll start buying a cold sports drink midway and be as smart about timing as I can.
